To make 12 Dark Orange Brownies

Method

Preheat your oven to 180C.

Line a brownie tin with baking parchment.

Place the butter, Resident Pheasant 70% Dark Chocolate and orange zest in a saucepan and very gently melt over a low heat.

Stir occasionally until you get a silky smooth mixutre, taking care not to over heat.

While you let the choccy mixture cool, in a separate bowl, whisk the eggs and sugar together with an electric whisk until the mixture is pale. You’ll know it is done when the mixture has doubled in volume and leaves a trail when the beaters are lifted.

Gently stir into the cooled chocolate mixture. Sift over the flour and cocoa, stir in.

Next add your bar of Resident Pheasant Orange Dark Chocolate. Give your brownies attitude by chopping the chocolate into shards and adding this to the mixture.

Pour into the lined tin. Bake for 35-40 mins.

Cool in the tin, then cut into squares. Warning…they may not be around long!

Bake for 30-40 minutes. Tip: The top should look set and start to crack. That’s when you know your brownies have serious attitude.

Why these Resident Pheasant Brownies are a crowd pleaser:

…Well they aren’t like any normal orange brownies. They are dark, dangerous and pack a real orange, zingy punch! Everywhere these bad boy brownies have gone, there has been positive reviews and many have gone back for seconds. With real candied pieces, how can you not love them? Read more about how we use all Natural Ingredients and Real Fruit Pieces in our ‘All Natural Ingredients‘ Blog.

Whether you are ‘wowing’ the new neighbours next door with some welcome treats, entering the office bake-off or simply just wanting a rainy day treat, this recipe is super simple and is fool proof! It’s also quick and fairly easy, with few ingredients. One tip to make them extra special is to leave your brownies overnight covered, and then simply cut up and serve the next day. This allows them to absorb all the orange flavours and your guests will thank you.

If you are a baker, we recommend ordering the following Build Your Own 6 Box to top up your pantry cupboard: 2x Resident Pheasant Dark 70%, 2x Dark Orange and 2x Dark Raspberry. They make for delicious inclusions for recipes and add an extra punch to your desserts. Check out our other blogs for inspiration!
