OUR STORY
Meet the Founder and the Resident Pheasant
After the shock of receiving a boring box of chocolates that wasn’t recyclable from a major brand, it was the Resident Pheasant that was in the garden that very same day that inspired female founder, Anna, to launch a chocolate company that’s as bold, bright as the bird and specialise in eco-friendly chocolate gifts!
Since then, small business owner Anna, and husband Cameron have worked on their family run business in Sussex to expand the range, ensuring each gift and bar is infused and sprinkled with the a hint of excitement and sass, just like the Resident Pheasant himself.
The packaging is retro 60’s and 70’s inspired, focusing on nostalgic flavours with a contemporary twist. Think Eton Mess summers evening or pack a punch with Dark Chocolate with Ginger for an incredible Zing. So, if you’re ever in Sussex and happen to stumble upon a garden with a pheasant that acts like he’s running the show, you’ve met the Resident Pheasant, the bird that inspired Chocolate with Attitude.
Since launch, Resident Pheasant now specialises in Letterbox gifts, Chocolate Hampers and eco-friendly and ethical Chocolate Gifts. With hand-picked and curated gifts for special occasions such as hampers for couples, corporate gifts, seasonal products and much more, there’s something special about choosing this vibrant chocolate option for someone you care about.
It doesn’t stop there. Wanting to carry on the ‘party-vibes’ further, Anna and Cameron now also run fun and vibrant Sussex based Ice Cream Carts for weddings and events, ensuring that the feel-good vibes are maintained at all times!

Our Values
To Be KIND TO THE PLANET
We are on a mission to get plastic BARRED.
All Resident Pheasant chocolate wrappers are fully wrapped in GMO-free, compostable and sustainable packaging. The chocolate stays fresh and delicious while giving plastic packaging the ‘SAY NO’ attitude it deserves.
Each individual outer paper layer is fully recyclable. The inner wrapper is made from Natureflex™, a specially sourced, flexible cellulose film which is made from eucalyptus wood pulp. This can simply be disposed of in your home compost bin.
Resident Pheasant has opted to source eco-friendly materials in an effort to reduce wastage and continue to be kind to our wonderful planet.
What does this mean? You can feel amazing enjoying your delicious Resident Pheasant attitude while being kinder to the planet; a win, win situation.

We are proud to partner with Cocoa Horizons Foundation, whose fantastic initiatives helps support cocoa farmers’ livelihoods across the Ivory Coast.
Cocoa Horizons is an independent, non-profit organisation whose methodology prescribes the best approach to build self-sustaining farming communities that protect nature, farmers, women and children alike. They take important steps to help improve productivity and community development while safeguarding the future of cocoa entrepreneurial farming.
